Category: Fresnel Stage Lights - A Fresnel lantern is a stepped-lens lighting instrument that produces a focusable, wide, soft-edged beam that is perfect for theatrical back light and side light. Fresnel lamps also work well as area lighting at medium distance throws for stage, film and video work. Fresnels are often used with snoots (or top hats) and barn door accessories that function as shutters to limit the light and eliminate spill. Fresnel lights offer lighting designers better control over beam angle than floods.

The Altman UV-703 is a compact, high output blacklight fresnel. It is designed to provide high intensity illumination of fluorescent materials at distances up to 150 feet.

The fixture does not require any fans for cooling, resulting in extremely quiet operation. It's equipped with barndoor rollers and an integral wire mesh safety screen in front of the lens.

The ballast is simple to operate with single on/off switch and a special fresnel lens filters out harmful UV-B and UV-C wavelengths and almost all visible light.
