The basket has a good sturdy weight, not flimzy.

I'm a tile contractor, and always recomend wire baskets instead of tile soap dishes or niches. Wire baskets are easier to keep clean, keep soap from becoming a soggy mess, and don't trap water, which will eventually cause problems (grout mildew, tile substrate damage, etc.)
These units are very well manufactured - and unlike the ones you can buy at the "big box" stores - won't deteriorate into a rusty mess after a couple years.
