This light hangs at the top of the stairs in our house. We needed a fixture that would provide light in that area and also shine down on our 1st floor foyer. We're very pleased with how this light illuminates both areas. The diamond shape reflects on the wall going up our stairs, making very a dramatic look. My responses to the instruction/assembly/installation questions may not be accurate as we had an electrician install the light.
