The lamp overall is smaller than I'd expected. And, to nitpick, the glass piece that fits over the bulb -- a mini shade inside the outer shade -- doesn't screw in. It just sits there. Once the lamp is put together, when the lamp is moved the inner shade won't fall out because it has no room to slip over and past the bulb, but it may unseat itself. A minor design flaw.
Otherwise the material construction is outstanding, extremely high quality in all regards.
I like the look of the lamp though I've gotten comments along the lines of 'aren't you worried it may attract aliens?'. So, the lamp is something of a conversation piece...
